How do I keep my guitar fingerpicking nails intact, long, and strong?

I already file my right fingernails, but they always manage get ruined. My most occuring problem is that a top layer of nail peels off. The second most occuring problem is that pieces of the front of the nails sometimes are torn off easily. This may not be the perfect answer for you, but it's the first. My mom used to get her nails done with this super strong clear coating on them at the nail salon. She found some of the stuff in a store and does it herself. It's amazing, her nails are thick and strong... and long and scary.... but it would solve your problem.





Go ask about it at an English speaking nail salon.
